AI for law firms & legal operations

A legal operations coworker that never forgets a deadline.

It handles the back office of the practice: intake, matter updates, deadlines, document assembly, and billing cleanup. Attorneys keep every judgment, and privileged data stays inside an environment you control.

§ 01Where the hours go

The work that quietly eats your week.

  • Leaky intake

Inquiries arrive after hours and by email, and the good ones go cold before anyone qualifies them.

  • Status calls

Clients want updates, and paralegals spend hours writing the same “where are we” emails.

  • Calendar risk

Deadline tracking often rests on one person and one spreadsheet.

  • Billing cleanup

Vague time entries and write-downs cost real revenue at month end.

§ 02What it takes on

Jobs a digital coworker can own.

Each of these is a defined job with inputs, steps, approvals, and a verified result. Start with one, and add more once it’s earning its keep.
  1. 01

    Intake qualification

Reads inquiries, gathers the facts, prepares conflict-check inputs, and routes promising matters to the right attorney.

  2. 02

    Matter status updates

Drafts client updates from the matter record for attorney review, or sends them within approved templates.

  3. 03

    Deadline tracking

Cross-checks the calendar against matter events and warns the team well before anything is due.

  4. 04

    Document assembly

Builds first drafts of engagement letters and standard documents from your templates in Word.

  5. 05

    Time-entry review

Flags vague or non-compliant entries before invoices go out.

  6. 06

    Knowledge retrieval

Finds prior work product and firm precedent from your document system.

§ 03Who does what

The coworker does the legwork. Your people make the calls.

The coworker handles

  • Intake facts and routing
  • First drafts from your templates
  • Calendar cross-checks
  • Billing-entry cleanup

Your team handles

  • Legal advice and strategy
  • Conflict decisions
  • Filings and court communications
  • Client relationships

Anything consequential or irreversible (money, commitments, customer-facing promises) waits for a person. You decide where those lines are, and the coworker’s permissions are cut to match.

§ 04Your systems

It works in the software you already run.

  • Clio
  • MyCase
  • PracticePanther
  • Smokeball
  • NetDocuments
  • iManage
  • Microsoft 365
  • Outlook

If your system has an API, we connect to it. If it only has a web interface your team uses, we can usually turn those steps into a tested tool. Either way, the coworker gets only the access its job needs.

§ 06Private by design

Sensitive data stays where it belongs.

Every coworker runs in its own isolated workstation with deny-first networking. Models are open-weight by default, served on your hardware or by zero-data-retention providers. Everything we build is yours to keep.
How we keep it private
§ 07FAQ

Common questions, answered.

Does privileged information leave our firm?

It doesn’t have to. Coworkers can run entirely on infrastructure you control. When we use hosted models, we use zero-data-retention providers by default, and nothing is used for training.

Will the AI practice law?

No. It handles operations: intake facts, drafts, deadlines, and billing hygiene. Attorneys review and own every legal judgment, filing, and piece of advice.

Can it file documents with the court?

We design filings, settlements, and anything irreversible to require a person. The coworker prepares the work; your team submits it.

Next step

Pick one job your team repeats.

We’ll sit down with the people who do it, map the steps, and put a number on the time. If a digital coworker is the right tool, you’ll know what it would return before you commit. If it isn’t, we’ll say so.
